How To Pick The Best Hardware Reviews

When the first PCs started turning up in the late seventies and early eighties they where designed to help businesses manage spreadsheets and if you were lucky help you write a letter to the bank manager asking, no doubt for more money, because you needed to re-mortgage the house for the latest breakthrough in cutting edge computing.

Nowadays computers come in all shapes and sizes and are capable of far more than just adding up a couple of sums. You can surf the web, play games, edit photos, listen to your music, make music even, oh and still of course get them to help you with your spread sheets and perhaps rather than a letter to your bank manager, simply manage your bank account online yourself.

But hardware doesn’t just cover computers and laptops but the multitude of accessories to go with it. The latest monitors that let you enjoy your desktop more, the 1TB hard drives that let you store all the data. Then there are the keyboards and mice that let you control it and that’s before you’ve got to the speakers to let you listen to it, the network modems that let you connect to the internet or the other massive plethora of USB devices that will do everything from letting you read a memory card to warming up a pair of slippers so you don’t get cold feet when doing your work.

The ultimate computer set up at home in my mind would consist of the following:

Apple MacBook Pro laptop

Apple’s MacBook Pro laptop is one of the best laptops around allowing you to manage your work and play on the go with ease. Using the Apple Leopard OS you don’t have to worry about viruses as the system is so far know to be immune to them. Additionally the software just works letting you get on with your work and play. Used by creative types around the world the laptop is great for managing music and images. Time Machine, its backup software solution is by far the best offering out there meaning your data will be safe always.

Seagate hard drive

If you’ve got lots of data and you backup regularly (which of course you should, it goes without saying) then you’ll need a decent hard drive to back up to. Seagate’s range of FreeAgent drives come in sizes of up to 750GB, more than ample enough, and offer fast performance for both Mac and PC users via USB 2.0 or Firewire.

Samsung 22-inch monitor

Your laptop might come with its own screen, but you’ll want to maximise your working capabilities in the office with a massive monitor. Get yourself a widescreen monitor with a good resolution. You can then use your laptop monitor as a second screen for chat or email windows leaving the main large screen solely for working on documents or whatever your main focus should be. And before you eek with “isn’t it going to be expensive?” the answer is no - you can get a 24-inch for under 250 pounds.

Logitech Keyboard and Mouse

Logitech have long been making decent keyboards and mice so it’s good to invest in something from the company. Mac owners might do better to opt for a Mac keyboard and a Logitech mouse however to get the best of both worlds. Something like the MX revolution or the MX Air.

History And Issues Of Notebooks

A Notebook or commonly referred to as a laptop computer is a smaller version of the desktop computer. But its advantages are that all of its components it comes in one neat mobile notebook shaped digital display box, and is easily portable. It usually weighs around 2 to 17 pounds (1 to 8 kgs) depending on the make, materials and different other factors that come into play such as the parent company etc.

Notebooks run on a singular battery from (usually) an external AC/DC adapter. It charges the battery and in the meanwhile supplies power to the laptop too. Numerous `notebooks` have a 3 volt back-up cell to supply power during power failures and when in places where there is no steady power supply. Notebooks, as personal computers are worthy and capable of doing the same work as of desktop computers. But they are less powerful than their desktop counterparts at the same price. This is because of the fact that most parts used in desktop computers are miniaturized to fit into the slim notebook version of the machine.

Notebooks usually have LCD (liquid crystal displays) and they use separate memory modules for their RAM. Notebooks usually have a touchpad (or trackpad) for a mouse and an in-built keyboard. But external installments of these can also be attached if the user wants to do so.

The first commercially available laptop (the name notebook was not feasible at that time as they were much bigger than the versions available now) was the Osborne I in 1981. Though it was much heavier and had only a tiny CRT monitor, yet it had a revolutionary effect on the business and industrial sectors. The idea of taking back work to home was given a full new meaning. A better installment of the laptop or the `notebook` came in 1983. Compaq Portable was the first tech-product of Compaq and was a notebook version of the then hugely popular IBM Personal Computer. It became a hit as it was more IBM-compatible than portable from its predecessors!

But the first notebook was arguably the GRiD Compass 1101, released in 1982 by Bill Moggridge. The `clamshell` design, or the `notebook` design, where the LCD monitor remains shut against the keypad, was introduced. It was enclosed in a magnesium case, and could run on batteries. The first commercially successful notebooks were from the SupersPort series from Zenith Data Systems (ZDS), which competed with several other companies such as IBM, Toshiba, Compaq and others to notch up a deal with the U.S. Air Force for a contract of supplying 200,000 notebooks in 1987. This made the laptop popular and penetrative to the business and affordable price ranges to the common consumers.

Even though the notebook might seem a powerful and mobile genius of this age, it has its fallacies too. The major ones may be listed below.

Standardizing and weaker parts:

Parts of the notebook are miniaturized parts of desktop computers themselves and hence are weaker in comparison. The miniaturization process also takes a toll on the prices of the notebooks, which are generally higher priced than their desktop counterparts. Also, notebooks count a lot on steady power supply, even though supposed to be mobile, for a decent performance. Though, today technology has improved this negative facet of notebooks.

Durability Issues:

The portability, make, integrated composite structure and design of the notebooks make them more liable to shock, wear and physical damage than desktop computers. And the worst part is that the purchase value of a new LCD screen or motherboard, if damaged, is more than the whole purchasing value of the notebook itself!

Performance Issues:

Desktop computers are generally high performing machines when compared to notebooks of the same price range. This even though is being abolished slowly by improving cutting edge technology, this will not hold true. As energy and portability are prioritized goals for a notebook than absolute performance.

All in all, notebooks are the rage of the new generation today. And slowly but surely, the era of desktop computers is fading into oblivion.

Microsoft Registry Cleaner - Is Vista Certified Best?

Computers are an essential part of everyday life. Weather it is used for school, business or just fun, almost everyone today has or knows how to use a computer.

The majority of people use Windows based operating systems and the newest operating system to come from Windows is Windows Vista.

Keeping your computer clean and running smooth is the best way to increase productivity and decrease the frustration of having a slow computer when you are working on an important task. One of the best ways to keep your computer running great is by cleaning the registry with a Windows Vista Registry cleaner.

Vista Certified?

Many of the registry cleaners, even some big name ones, are still not yet ready for Vista yet. So, be careful when choosing a registry cleaner to avoid these if you have Windows Vista as your operating system.

A good registry cleaner has the ability to clean the registry in order to get your computer’s speed up speed up and have it run smoother with little to no errors. Registry cleaners also get rid of those pesky spyware files that hog a majority of your system’s resources and steal information from your computer.

The Windows Vista operating system is very different from the previous version so it is important to use a genuine Vista registry cleaner.

Vista certified means it has been given Microsoft’s seal of approval, but when you think about it, this is not a really big deal. If a reputable company feels its cleaner is ready to deal with Vista that is good enough for me. What Microsoft thinks and why they think it is secondary.

Registry optimization

Using the registry cleaner is very simple, pretty much as simple as opening the program and hitting a button to run it. Once it runs, it does all the work by itself, checking for problems and fixing them. The best registry cleaners also compress, or optimize the data as well and this is where a majority of the speed boost comes from.

It keeps the registry up to date and removes all the unnecessary and outdated files not used by your computer anymore. New to Vista registry cleaners, it can also deal with viruses and trojans as well, which not only slow down your computer but are also very harmful to it as well.

Newer operating systems

Technology has progressed and the use of the computer has increased drastically. With all the things you can do, like listen to music, watch videos, surf the net, write papers and more, you need more resources to be able to do all this efficiently.

Cleaning the registry on a regular basis allows you to be able to do all of this without slowing down your computer. This is because it doesn’t have to work as hard to run all of these things. We live in an age where we are used to having things right now and very fast and it gets frustrating when we don’t have this luxury.

So cleaning the registry is one of the best ways to be sure you’re up to speed when working with a Windows operating system, especially one of the newer ones like XP and Vista. Also if using Vista make sure the registry cleaner is Vista ready or Vista compatible. However, whether or not Microsoft has actually certified the cleaner for Vista it is not that important.

Your Computer Memory Queries Answered

We would be lost without our computers. Businesses are able to operate, keep track of their inventory and order new supplies all through the use of computers. Personal computers keep track of our finances, allow us to surf the World Wide Web and provide ways to relax us through the use of video games.

Computer memory is the most vital component that makes your pc run. Did you not know that? Do not feel bad because most computer users know just enough about their personal and work computers to know when something goes wrong.

You can get ahead of the pack by this article. You can learn what computer memory is and how it affects the performance of your business or personal pc/laptop.

How can I tell how much RAM I have on my computer?

If you do not automatically know… what is wrong with you? That is a joke of course. Most people do not know the technical aspects of their computer right off hand. Most never need to know as long as it is working correctly but there is a way to find out very quickly.

Simply find the My Computer or Computer icon on your desktop and right click once. A window will pop up, scroll to the bottom where it reads “Properties.” Left click on Properties and a window will pop up with all of your technical information. You can look under “System” to find your processor speed and your memory.

What is volatile storage?

Volatile storage is any storage or items that were temporarily stored that will be cleared when you power down your computer. RAM is cleared each time you power your computer down and volatile storage acts in the same manner. It is the opposite of non-volatile storage where information is permanently saved to the hard drive of your desktop or laptop computer.

What is Random and Sequential Access?

Random access is the ability of the pc to draw on different storage randomly. The data does not have to travel a set path in order to be stored or accessed. Sequential access is the direct opposite. There must be a set data path in order for the computer to be able to access the information it needs in order to run properly.

Can the information found in a computer memory be changed?

Yes, information found in a computer’s memory can be changed. RAM is deleted and cleared whenever you restart your pc. Long term storage can be deleted and changed to meet your specifications. If you do not know how to change your data, you can always seek out message boards specializing in data storage.

Can different computers use the same memory?

As long as the computer has the same base components, it can use different memory module options. Some computers on a network may be able to be connected together so that they can use a larger RAM database. The database would have to be pretty large for more than one computer to be connected and all of them using the RAM.

Types And Functions Of Accounting Software

Accounting software is rapidly becoming an essential element for a vast number of businesses. With so many accounting packages on the market today with a huge array of different software applications, the choices can be almost limitless. Some of these software packages are suited for use by large corporations while others are perfect for personal accounting functions. Software that is available ranges from the sublimely simple to the ultimately complex; it is important to recognise your needs before making any purchase.

Accounting software is usually categorised by the functions it performs. These different functions are usually referred to as core modules, the following gives definitions of these functions and which should be included in your package.

One function your software should perform involves accounting transactions. The core module labelled ‘accounts receivable’ is the billing of customers automatically. This would normally done by sending out invoices and the like, it is possible with accounting software to optimise the process so less time is spent calculating charges and all you simply must do is pop it in the post.

Another accounting function is the ‘accounts payable’ module. This works in much the same way as the accounts receivable but instead of customers it is the funds that must be paid to suppliers of energy. Put simply it is the expenses that your company must pay out.

A ‘general ledger’ is also referred to as a nominal ledger. Put simply this is the main accounting record for a business and in most cases will use a double entry bookkeeping method. Included are figures for fixed and current assets liabilities, revenue and expenses. With use of efficient software it should be able to surmise your businesses gains or losses from the general ledger.

Billing is another function that accounting software should possess, this is generally the production of bills and receipts for customers. Invoices also fall into this category and should be used by businesses that do a lot of delivery orders as part of their commercial operation.

Accounting software should also be able to help with stocktaking and inventories. By recording and updating a list of stock constantly the software should be able to produce a list of all the items you currently hold in stock.

So far we have looked at the fundamental applications your software package should include. There are however peripheral functions that the package should be able to carry out.

One of these functions is ‘debt collection’; where the software is able to track any debts that may be owed to the company. Some software packages will also be able to record information on customer enquiries including what kind of goods and services they were looking to buy.

Payroll information should be included in your accounting software package. Put simply this is the recording of all the salaries and wages that are paid to staff members, including information on tax paid, bonuses and any deductions that may have to be made.

Naturally not all accounting software will include these applications. Depending on your business requirements it may not be essential to use all of these functions. Packages usually come dedicated to the size of the business. Usually in terms of large, medium or small business operations; while the small business software may be cheap it doesn’t always fulfil your needs while larger businesses will benefit from the extensive range of applications contained in top flight packages.

It is worth remembering that when you are looking at buying an accounting software package to factor in the growth of your business. Packages can be expensive and if you do not get one that is efficient enough to cope with the growth of your business for a number of years you may find yourself upgrading in six or twelve months time. Considering the functions your need the software to carry out is important, make sure the package suits your immediate needs and can cope with growth. By following this advice you should be able to find a package to suit your business requirements perfectly.

Financial expert Thomas Pretty looks into the functions and applications that your accounting software package should perform for efficient business practices.

An Overview of Overclocking

We live in a world where everything is controlled by computers. We need computers for everything. God forbid our computers should stall or crash, we would be in deep trouble. Almost all our work depends on the speed of our computer and how good it is.

All of us need machines that are going to be the least troublesome. We all want computers that have great speed, lots of storage and most of all that will not crash! Technology has been on a steady way to growth and with the years we have got better computers but somehow we still dont have a guarantee of our machines not crashing or stalling, no matter how much we pay for it! Computers will be computers.

Today time is of great essence and that is why all of us are in search of a computer that will well honor our time and not stall on us!

A lot of wiz computer geniuses arent happy with the speed of their computers and so they work on trying to make them faster and better their performances. This particular process of trying to make your computer work faster than its designed clock rate is known as overclocking.

The process of overclocking may sound simple but infact it can be quite tricky, one has to take a lot of things into consideration before going ahead with the process. If you plan to overclock your computer, you may want to think twice, true your computer could function much faster but at the same time you hold the risk of having to function with a computer than can get every frustrating if the process of overclocking is not done right. You will also have to face the risk of silent data. These errors may not surface in the beginning but eventually they will and may cost you.

One has to be careful when trying to overclock his or her system but definitely there are great benefits to overclocking your computer. If you overclock your computer you will find a major difference while either playing a game or encoding or working on video editing applications etc. your computer will be much faster without a shadow of doubt. Overclocking will also help to educate one on the systems on their pc and its functions.

Overclocking itself can be a nice hobby, an educative one. And you can bet this hobby will only help improve the quality and more importantly quantity of your work since your speed will be high.

Basics Of Dual-Core Process Computer

The computer has been one of the most amazing and fruitful discoveries man has ever made. It has revolutionized the way man does his things. The way he eats, drinks, sleeps and even thinks. And computer itself has evolved over the years. From the Eniac I to the hand-held palmtops in executives` hands today, computer has changed with the technology. And it has changed our lives too.

The latest addition to this revolution of technical upgrading of computers is the dual-core processor technology. It refers to the CPU (Central Processing Unit- the brains of the computer) that possesses two independent and complete execution cores for each of its two processors. The concerned CPU contains two combined processors along with their cache memories and their respective controllers integrated into a singular circuit (commonly known as a silicon chip).

The dual-core process computer is suited to multitasking and handling miscellaneous tasks (often unrelated to each other). Because its CPU has two completely independent execution cores and both have independent interfaces to the front bus, it has excellent capacity to execute several programs and tasks simultaneously. Similarly, dual-core process computers may have more processor cores which is actually named as a multi-core process computer. These are highly efficient machines to conduct intensive tasks of computing or program execution at the same instance of time.

The Pentium dual-core process computer is the most preferred brand of computer in the market. It has x86-architectured microprocessors integrated onto its circuit. The 32-bit Yonah processors are a base for mobile computers while the 64-bit Allendale processors are maintained for the desktop computers. Both have absolutely different architecture as far as microprocessor technical build is concerned.

By early 2007, Intel decided to launch dual-core process computers in the field of notebooks or laptops too. This was a very important and vital decision as there were no other rivals in this phase if the market of computer architecture. Intel had only decided to launch the dual-core process computer system applying to notebooks on the behest of notebook or laptop manufacturers. The first processors to appear in notebooks using the dual-core process computer technology were the Pentium T2060, T2080 and a 32-bit Pentium M based on the Yonah core with a 1 MB L2 cache, instead of the usual 2MB cache memory.

Intel had forced a return of the Pentium brand to the market arena on 2006 with a host of low-cost single core Conroe-L core architecture processors with a 1 MB cache. These were numbered `1` to distinguish them from dual core process computer cores that had been labeled with the digit `2`.

More recently, on June 3, 2007, Intel released desktop dual-core processors from the Pentium brand. They were named as E2140 and E2160. September 2007 saw the late release of a better and updated model named E2180. These processors support the Intel64 extensions, because of their Allendale derived Core architecture. The power of these dual-core process computers was very imminent as most companies` demands exceeded supply over these multi-processor machines.

Dual-core process computer systems have taken over the world of computing today. As of its multi-tasking ability, it has gained world-wide acclaim due to its efficient, quick and yet superior quality program execution and task completion abilities. Heavier programs and complex games may be run with these dual-core process computer systems at the regular pace of conventional single-core processor systems did with light programs on the execution chart.

The age of computers had begun a long time back. But the age of sleek and efficient computing with the help of razor-edge technology has just begun with the dual-core process computer systems.

Speed Up Your Computer With Overclocking

When you ask anyone about computers, usually their fantasy is of a super fast computer that doesnt ever stall or crash. Unfortunately for us, that still remains a fantasy. In our world today we have good computers but even our good computers continue to stall, hang, crash and work extremely slow. Since the invention of computers, computers have only gotten more and more popular.

Almost everyone uses a computer for work. Computers, I insist are no longer considered as luxury, they come under the bracket of necessity. And after the discovery of internet, their use has only become even more evident and needed. Like mentioned above, we all crave for a faster machine, no matter which model we buy, we always want a higher version or at least dream of a higher version and better speed. Now fortunately for us we have the process of overclocking which can help our old computers to work fast.

Thanks to this process we can improve the speed of our otherwise very slow computer. Yes if our computers are overclocked, they will perform much faster, their speed will increase, now that is definitely beneficial for anyone who owns a computer. In fact this process can be conducted even on an old computer and you can still expect to see good results. Overclocking your computer will give you an idea of how a higher version of your computer will function. In fact you can first test it on your computer and if the higher version seems to perform well, later you can go ahead and buy it. Yes, overclocking of your computer can prove to be very beneficial for you!

On the other hand, if overclocking of your computer goes wrong, it could lead to the killing of many components in your computer which will then ultimately lead to the breaking down of your computer with no hope of its resurrection. So instead of gaining speed, you may wind up loosing your computer and all its functioning altogether.

Also, often during this process data is damaged, in fact it happens so subtly that you have no clue that your data is being damaged. It also decreases the life span of your processor by a considerable amount.

Though overclocking gives you a peek into the higher version of your computer, it is not always advisable because sometimes you land up spending a considerable amount of money on overclocking. Overclocking involves generation of heat and maintaining its coolness often requires cooling equipment which may cost a lot, so it turns out to be as expensive as an upgrade.

Should I Switch To Windows Vista ?

In the last year, Microsoft Windows introduced their newest version of their operating system, called Windows Vista. This was a highly anticipated release and included many enhancements that Windows users had been looking forward to for some time. However, there have been some problems reported with Vista and unless you are having some issues with your current version of Windows, you might want to wait to upgrade.

This article should help you navigate through the various considerations and help you to understand if now is the right time to make the move to Vista or if you should hold off for awhile. On the positive side, it has been noted that Vista seems to operate more reliably and with fewer operating system crashes than what people tend to experience with Windows XP.

In addition, Windows Vista has also been shown to improve some of the basic operating features of Windows. Many users also claim that Vista provides improved built-in support and help options which can make trouble-shooting go more smoothly.

On the negative side of things, the search function in the Vista Home Basic version is not easily located on the desktop. Instead, the search function has been “buried” inside the applications or you need to go through the Start Menu. For some people this is not really a major issue, but for others who use this function frequently it has been reported as an annoyance.

So far there has been very little computer software written specifically for Vista. This is sure to change soon and no doubt there is a great deal of software development going on, with regard to writing applications specifically to take advantage of the new aspects of Vista.

However, this fact has led the pc pundits and experts to tell people that there is really no urgent need to make the move to Vista at this time. This is especially true if you are content with your system just the way it is, as it provides very little motivation to upgrade from Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

At the same time, for those who are looking at purchasing a new pc and wondering which Windows operating system to choose, the experts say that Vista is certainly stable enough. It makes sense when buying a new computer to go ahead and get the most current operating system available, as long as it will be trouble free.

That said, unless you are unhappy for some reason with your current version of Windows, the expense of upgrading to Windows Vista is really not justified at this point. That will undoubtedly change when the software publishers start releasing new versions. You will also need to consider the cost of upgrading those software packages when that time comes.

Tips When Doing A Memory Upgrade

A slow running computer can be a huge pain when you are trying to get a job done. The software runs slow, the load times are unbearably long and forget about playing any computers video games.

If this is happening to you and you want your computer to operate at a faster speed, then you need a memory upgrade to make your computer zip along at lightening fast speeds. You will be able to run several applications at once, listen to your MP3 players music and get to play those computer games you just cannot live without!

Upgrading your computer’s memory is a great way to run programs faster and speed up the overall use of your computer. A memory upgrade is relatively inexpensive and real easy to install. The hardest part is finding out what kind of memory you need and selecting the right type of storage for the speed you wish. There are four types of memory which are: RDRAM, DDR2 SDRAM, DDR SDRAM, and SDR SDRAM.

Step number two is to go to a discount computer hardware store to purchase your new storage card. You want to upgrade to the highest capacity you can afford. Remember that more storage means more speed and efficiency for your pc. You do not want to have to purchase a new card every few months. Go ahead and splurge a little. This is the cheapest way to improve your computer’s speed.

Most computers allow you to use generic memory cards. Once you have your new memory card it is then time to open that baby up. Remove the cover to your pc. If you have an available slot, then all you have to do is plug in the new desktop storage card you purchased. If there are no open slots left, then you will need to remove the old one and replace it with the generic one card or a pc specific storage card.

So now you see how easy a memory upgrade can actually be. Before you consider getting rid of your computer for a faster model, do an upgrade and you will see a noticeable difference in how fast your processing speed is. It is a simple plug in and go swap of the old storage module and the new version. Just make sure to get as much storage as you can possibly afford so you do not have to replace the memory again any time soon.

Are You Trying to Fix Registry Errors? These Four Steps Can Help

If you are forced to fix registry errors (nobody does it by choice) and you have questions about what to look for in an effective product and the steps to completing the repair, this article will shed some light on the issue.

If you have questions running through your mind like: Will the software I choose do the job right? Am I getting the best product for the price? What features should a good product have? Can I get the support I need? Is the software too complicated? Is the software making up errors during the free scan to get me to purchase?

Each of the above questions raises real concerns when you are trying to narrow your choices of products to trust. There are so many products and biased reviews and the average person experiences stress just thinking about the decision to be made. It does not need to be a chore for you.

Step One: Ensure that the Registry is The Problem

The good news is that the registry needs maintaining over time anyway, so you cannot lose by downloading software now. If you are concerned whether or not registry software is a worthwhile investment, my opinion is definitely yes. Whether you are trying to fix registry errors or only trying to keep the registry running efficiently, it is worth keeping software on your PC to use throughout the year.

If you need to fix registry errors but want to ensure that the registry is indeed the problem, the following symptoms are common to needing registry repair: your computer is slow or has delayed response times, you are having problems adding or removing programs, rebooting is becoming common practice, or you have tried virus or spyware scans and repairs and the problems still exist. Additional symptoms may include the computer freezing or crashing, getting the Blue Screen of Death (blue screen with white writing), or you are having challenges launching software programs on your PC.

Step Two: Download and Initiate a Free Scan

One nice feature of most software products of this type is that you can download and use the scanning features for free before having to pay to fix the registry errors. You can also download multiple programs to see how the scanning results vary before choosing one to repair the computer with. You can choose one and pay to fix the problem after comparing.

Also make sure that you understand each of the scan and optimization features. The good programs have a full explanation included about what each feature does. Look for an automatic backup of files, optimization to registry and Internet Explorer, good support files, evidence and junk file cleaners, and the ease of use of the software and scan processes.

Step Three: Invest the Money and Get the Errors Fixed

If errors are discovered by the free scan, you can either try another or you can just get the problem fixed and pay for the repair element of the software.

The repair function of the software is the easiest part of the entire repair process. The download and the scan take the longest and then once you purchase the repair element of the product, the errors are fixed in just seconds.

Step Four: Restart Computer and Ensure Changes Applied

Once you fix registry errors, restart your computer to allow the changes to be saved. You should see a huge difference in the reboot and the operational efficiency of your PC once your computer starts up.

It can be a good idea to also run the scan again to ensure that the software repaired the problems the first time around. You can even use other free downloads to see if any additional errors are detected.

Once you fix registry errors, the process is not over. Be sure to use the software at least once a week or so to maintain the results that you just accomplished. The registry is constantly getting bloated and maintenance is always a great idea. The good programs will give you a one year license of the software for the price. Others give a discount for multiple computers on the license.

The entire process to fix registry errors should take no longer than 10 minutes.

Four Quick and Easy PC Registry Repair Steps

If you are faced with the need for PC registry repair and have never had such issues prior, this article will help you with some direction to get the problems resolved.

Several years ago I was experiencing slow, freezing, and crashing computer problems. My first thought was that I could resolve the issue with a virus and spyware scan and fix. I purchased the latest McAfee online version of software. There were a couple of problems detected, which I quickly cleaned off. Still, my computer performance issues remained.

After some investigation I found that the problems may be related to the Microsoft Windows registry. My first reaction was to express my discontent with another Microsoft problem! After realizing that crying about the issue did no good, I moved on.

The next step was to investigate PC registry repair products. I was overwhelmed with the number of choices on the market. I did not know which products to trust because of all of the biased reviews and software websites claiming superior products. After guessing which product would do the repair, I just had faith and made the leap to purchasing one that seemed well-promoted. I was relieved when the product fixed the issues I was having.

The following steps are recommended if you are in need of PC registry repair:

Step One: Ensure that the Chances are good that the Registry is Your Real Problem

Unless if you have specific error messages pinpointing a registry problem, you may have to rely on the symptoms that you are experiencing to guide you about whether or not your issues are attached to the registry.

The following symptoms are common to registry problems: Slow, crashing, or freezing computer, delayed response times, challenges adding or removing programs, inability to load software (or slow response), blue screen with white letters (Blue Screen of Death), inability of spyware (virus, adware, malware) software to fix challenges, or having to reboot consistently.

Step Two: Choose a Registry Product to Run a Free Scan With

Once you determine that the chances are good that you are experiencing registry problems, the next step is to choose a product that will give you a reliable scan of errors that may exist. Any reputable product will offer a free scan. The challenge is to find one that will give you a good amount of repair and optimization characteristics.

Step Three: Download the Software and Run the Free Scan

The download process is simple and should only take a couple of minutes. Be sure to try each scan option provided. Some products like Registry Easy offer a variety of scans like junk files, evidence scans, and Internet Explorer scans.

The important objective of this step is to ensure that you are actually experiencing registry errors before investing any money. If errors are discovered from the free scan, a purchase option will pop up on your screen. This will allow you to purchase the corrective function of the product in order to complete your PC registry repair. Only a few seconds will elapse after you pay for the repair and the issues will be fixed.

Make sure to restart your computer to allow the changes to be applied.

Step Four: Maintain the Registry over Time

Good software programs will include a one year license with your purchase. Make sure to use your investment to your favor by scanning at least weekly. This will keep your registry from becoming too bloated and from returning you to the state you started with before the initial repair.

You cannot go wrong by having both a good spyware and adware software in addition to the PC registry repair software. Each product has its own independent function and is useful for the user to have over time.

The entire PC registry repair process takes less than 10 minutes. Again, make sure to restart your computer to ensure that the changes were made.

If you are overwhelmed with trying to find the best registry repair product and are not confident in what to look for, this article can assist you. You will find information on what qualities exist in high quality registry cleaners and how to get your problem fixed quickly and easily.

What Are the Qualities Offered by the Best Registry Software Downloads?

Quality One: Simple and Easy to Use Download and Interface

Keep in mind that the top software programs will have a free download and initial scan. This will allow you to go through the download and scan steps without feeling like you have to purchase the software. This means that you can figure out what the software is like before purchasing it.

Once you download the software, see how easy it is to navigate the interface choices (like scan options). See if descriptions of each feature are present via mouse click or help files. If the software is easy, the repair process should be easy too.

Quality Two: Scan Options

The best registry repair software tools will have both repair and optimization features in the same program. It used to be good enough to just repair corrupt files. Now the standard has been raised and there are system optimizer features, including internet browser plug in removers, and evidence and junk file scans.

Make sure that there are a number of file types scanned like Shared Program Paths, Application Paths, File Associations, Active X/Coms/OLE, Font Files, Help Files, Toolbars, Shared DLL Files, Invalid Shortcuts, Most Recent Files, and Startup Files.

Quality Three: File Back Ups are Automatic

When you repair your registry, it is a good feeling to know that your files were saved in case you do not approve of the changes made. It is always good to have a back up that happens without you having to initiate it. The best registry repair software downloads offer this feature.

Quality Four: Choice of Which Files to Repair

This quality is directed more toward people who have advanced knowledge of the registry. If you are a beginner to the registry repair world, you do not need to worry as most software programs are designed to fix only what needs to be fixed.

Quality Five: Long-Term License

You will need to maintain the registry over time. The best registry repair tools have a long-term license of a year. This will allow you to do a weekly scan and repair for the same initial cost. If it is only intended for a one time use, do not buy the software.

What is Next?

Step One: Do a Free Download and Scan

Step Two: Purchase the Repair Function of the Program

If errors are found, it is your best bet just to purchase the repair option in the same software used for the scan. The repair only takes moments to complete. Rerun the scan after you purchase and repair the files. If all errors are gone, proceed to the next step. If errors still exist, do the repair one more time.

Step Three: Restart Your Computer

Changes will save and apply by restarting the computer. The system should be much faster and more efficient now. You should truly notice a difference.

Registry Reviews: How to Determine Which Product to Use

When you begin to research registry reviews online, there is no doubt that you will see thousands of biased reviews. The information on these sites can be in contrast to other sites that state the complete opposite. You are left confused and wondering if you will make the right product choice.

Do not let all of these reviews get the best of you. There are a couple of key items to look for in each registry review that will ensure that you will get a product that does the job for you both quickly and effectively.

Three key elements should exist in a software download to be considered a quality purchase:

Element One:

Ensure that a complete review of the software is done for you. There should be information about every step of the process from the time you download the free scan interface, to the ease of use of each button (characteristic), to the effectiveness of the repair (including initial errors found and those left at the end of the repair).

Many sites will only give a rating in a table or chart without a serious review. Be very careful when using sites like these. If the entire process of product use is not provided, you are best off to keep looking for better registry reviews. Some unique qualities of the product should be focused upon as well as some advantageous reasons for using one product over another. The great websites will give a high end overview of the best software programs, but also offer complete reviews to those wanting more information.

Some of the features that should be covered in the registry reviews are: ease of download of the software and free scan option, file categories of the registry that are to be scanned, features in addition to those offered by other products, optimization features for the registry and the PC in general (if any exist), and additional hints about how the product is utilized as well as reasons for using this particular software or version.

Element Two:

The registry review site should offer screen prints or videos of the product during each major part of the scanning and repair process. These graphics prove that the reviewer has actually used the product and understands what the process is like. There are way too many people on the internet who have not even used the product that they are pitching. That should be considered fraud!

Another reason that this is an important element is because it provides you a view of the entire process so you can determine the ease of use for you once you do the free scan or purchase the software.

Element Three:

There should always be five or more products reviewed, not just the one that the reviewer is connected to. It is nice to see objective reviews of multiple products on one website.

The advantage of having more than one software program reviewed on the site is that you will have a better idea of which software might be a better fit for the unique issues that you are experiencing. Make sure that the judgment criteria are the same in every review so that you are able to compare apples to apples versus apples to oranges. Ensure that there is logic to why one product is higher or lower in rating than the others.

Regardless of what registry product you decide on, a free download and scan should be provided so that you can detect errors (if there are any) before paying for the repair function of the download. The product downloaded for the free scan can also be used to repair the computer. If errors are not detected, do not purchase the software.

The registry reviews will assist to help you in your buying decision instead of limiting the choices that exist. The final objective is to get your registry errors corrected in the easiest and quickest way possible with a software program that will repair the errors right the first time around.

The Importance Of Fixing The Windows Registry

Windows registry repair is a crucial element to maintaining any PC. The Windows registry is the central part of any computer system and is one of the most overlooked aspects in computer maintenance.

When you install Windows on your PC, it is stored together with a number of programs within a database called the registry. It was originally designed to speed up the operating system, but it can also be the cause of a slow computer performance.

Since it is a single point of failure, damage to the system registry can render a Windows computer unbootable, and in extreme cases can only be fixed by reinstalling the operating system.

Failure to fix or prevent registry problems when they arise, may result in your PC freezing, crashing or a slow down in your computers performance. Out of the many PC maintenance tasks that you may perform, keeping the Windows registry clean should be a top priority. This applies to the casual user or advanced PC user. The end result will be a greatly enhanced computing experience.

It is important to note that trying to repair registry errors after they occur can be prove to be challenging than preventing them from happening in the first place. Prevention is key to keeping your system running well optimized.

If you have just bought a new PC, or have been running the same one for a number of years, it is important to understand why the Windows registry can eventually become corrupted and filled with unwanted errors.

You will definitely need to look into repairing your registry for any one of these reasons:

- improperly uninstalling software programs on your PC
- constantly installing and uninstalling applications
- Spyware, Adware or other third party software that have been installed onto your computer without your consent
- frequently installing or uninstalling hardware devices
- unused drivers that are no longer being used by the system or a device

Repairing registry problems will not be a major issue for a new PC, but over time your Windows registry will continue to be filled with more and more information. This is the result of adding and removing new software, hardware devices, drivers and other utilities.

With all these additions and deletions, your registry may become corrupt and filled with useless information that the operating system no longer needs. If this is not corrected soon than you may end up with a system that is unable to even boot up properly.

There are a number of ways to correct registry errors from manually trying to remove them using the built-in RegEdit tool that comes with Windows, to using a registry cleaner tool that will automatically scan your system registry and remove information that is no longer needed.

These tools have many features that can help the average user in registry repair. They provide a simple and easy to use interface that will scan your PC at regular intervals that are set by you. They can really help to get your computer running fast again.
