Mini notebooks, also known as mini netbooks, are found in all places today even in the classroom. It seems the little notebook has come out of nowhere to become tremendously trendy overnight. The miniature netbook demonstrates quality and productivity in one solid design.

Netbooks usually have screens of ten inches or less, run Windows or Linux and generally sell for well under $500. The main function is to keep its owner easily connected to the internet anytime. They do tend be fast and competent.

This previous year exposed the popularity and fiery growth of these mini laptops. Many computer companies such as HP, Dell, and Lenovo just to mention a few have jumped in on this rage and are developing the small convenient laptop.

The miniature netbook currently is the fastest growing segment of the laptop business and is likely to reach 139 million units by 2013.

Why is there such a rapid popularity for the mini? It very well may be due to our infatuation for mobility. Many want a manageable device that will keep us linked to the Internet and yet be small and light enough to be carried around at all times. A tool of this nature is desired by most people these days.

Netbooks do make for wonderful student laptops. They are small with ten inch displays or less making them perfect for students. They are usually very lightweight somewhere around two to three pounds.

They are tiny enough to insert in the school bag or backpack and small enough to carry around all day without developing a back crisis. They are a very convenient, mobile tool used to stay connected to the web and friends at all times.

The miniature netbook offers even more superior qualities. Most are built to be strong and sturdy. They can take a beating and still continue to perform. Students are not exactly easy on their gear so a tough device is required to handle their demands.

You usually get a more enhanced battery life than you do with a regular sized laptop. This is critical to the student since many have to go several hours without an opportunity to recharge the battery. Lengthy battery life makes the notebook an excellent student laptop.

Although small, the mini features some striking performance stats. Many now come with at least 1 Gig of RAM and Intel Atom processors. There are even some with Solid State Hard Drives making them more sturdy and less likely to be damaged. Most use Windows XP with about 30 or 60 Gig hard drives which should be adequate for most students.

Another reason notebooks make the perfect student laptop is because of their inexpensive price. Students are typically on a very restricted budget. The lower price of these tools is just right for many. Several quality machines are now priced in the $300 to $500 range while some even go for under $300.

The small size, portability, excellent connectivity, sturdiness, long battery life, good performance, adequate storage, and affordable price make the mini an excellent choice for any student. Schools now have the opportunity to provide for every child in need without exceeding the budget.
